RAM and HDD

It is a lot easier to remove the HDD (1) bay cover while the RAM bay cover removed as RAM cover actually covers the latches of a HDD bay. So, if you are trying to open the HDD (1) bay cover and feel like it's hard to remove it after unscrewing, remove the RAM bay cover first. You can see the HDD itself in a shiny stainless steel support which is holding in it's bay with only screws on the cover of the bay so, it's ready to be removed by pulling it by the plastic (film) "handle" on the right side as you watch this picture.

Here you can see the memory slot with 2 RAM sticks (2 x 2GB Transcend in my case). To replace the RAM is a very easy operation and does not require any special knowledges. Just turn off your Laptop, remove the battery and power cables to make sure it will not accidentally turn on during replacement of parts. Then just bend out the fixing springs (left and right side of each Memory Stick) and Stick will actually jump off its place. You will not be able to put New Stick of RAM in wrong direction as there is a special gap on each RAM stick and on a slot as well. Just put the new RAM stick in a slot and push it down until it clicks with side springs to be in places. We are going to HDD (1) bay on a next Picture.

Here is the back of a DV9500. We are looking at Memory (RAM) bay cover in the middle with 2 screws. Primary (1) HDD bay cover is located on the right side. Second HDD (2) bay cover is located on the left. Next picture - I open the Memory (RAM) bay.
